The Fair Trade movement owes a lot to the thousands of high school and college students all over the world who commit hours and hours of their time outside of the classroom to educate their peers about fair trade. MPRIG is a huge part of this. For the past three years MPRIG has been working on a campaign to educate college students about the realities of global free trade, and the advantages of the alternative trade model, fair trade. Peace Coffee thinks MPRIG rocks!

Without IATP, Peace Coffee would not exist. They incubated us in the basement of their building to show that a fair trade coffee company could be successful. With their help we have grown into a model fair trade business. On a day to day basis IATP works to advance trade rules that respect and promote the fundamental right to food, water and development while ensuring fair economic return for farmers around the world.

The Birchwood Cafein Minneapolis is one part funky coffee house, one part neighborhood cafe, and two parts eclectic organic kitchen. They share a commitment with Peace Coffee to bring people closer to the farmers who grow their delicious ingredients and produce our rich coffee. The Birchwood also has a bike team that does weekly rides along the Mississippi River. Peace Coffee is one of the team sponsors.

Izzy's Ice Cream is located in St. Paul and more recently they have opened a cafe in downtown Mpls. They have been mixing batches of Guatemalan Peace Coffee Ice Cream for the last three years. It's a wildly popular flavor and obviously our favorite.

The Town Hall Brewery is located on the West Bank near the University of Minnesota. They offer creative and super tasty beers. In 2004 they worked with Peace Coffee to produce Black Snow, an incredible blend of coffee and beer. It was so popular that they are going to do it again. Witness for Peace is a politically independent, grassroots organization. They are people committed to nonviolence and led by faith and conscience. Their mission is to support peace, justice and sustainable economies in the Americas by changing US policies and corporate practices which contribute to poverty and oppression in Latin America and the Caribbean. T.J Semanchin, Peace Coffee's Roaster, went on a Witness for Peace delegation to Colombia in 2004. He experienced first hand the effects of US Foreign Policy on the conflict in Colombia.

They are strong advocates for corporate accountability and big proponents of fair trade. Screen printer TS Designs developed REHANCE, an innovative method of printing and dyeing clothing apparel using water base chemistry. With the REHANCE process there are no Plastisol materials used and no PVC is left behind to harm the environment. And the shirts are soft and comfy and won't fade for years and years! Their t-shirts (like Peace Coffee's) withstand the test of time, so they'll always look and feel like new. Lastly TS Designs is a big supporter and user of biodiesel. We love that!

Practically located in our backyard, The Resource Center of the Americas, is an amazing organization that informs, educates and organizes to promote human rights, democratic participation, economic justice and cross-cultural understanding in the context of globalization in the Americas. The core objective of USFT is to raise the awareness of and expand the demand for Fair Trade alternatives, both on campuses and in communities. ORGANIC CONSUMER ASSOCIATION (OCA)

The OCA is a grassroots non-profit public interest organization which deals with crucial issues of food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, corporate accountability, and environmental sustainability. Over the last few years OCA and its members have put a lot of pressure on Starbucks to offer fair trade coffee and hormone free milk. They recently launched a great campaign called Breaking the Chains of mindless and self-destructive consumerism.
